looping wastegate and turbo precontrol
Why?
I have been trouble shooting the boost problem in my car. Well I figured it out a little bit ago but just got into fixing it. I took off the intercooler piping to find that my wastegate control and turbo precontrol nipples were looped to each other. Anyone know why this would be done? Here is a picture of what I mean, the 2 top for the solenoids are left untouched but the bottom that go directly to the wastegate is looped with the precontrol. I have already taken it out and waiting for the engine to cool to correctly put the hose on it, I am just baffled as to why it was done. http://i380.photobucket.com/albums/o...7-07160823.jpg |
Do you have an aftermarket boost controller on the car?
Or someone tried to go non-sequential? Dale |

I don't think it's looped to be looped, I think that's just a way to cap both of those nipples. Instead of using 2 vacuum caps, you just use 1 short piece of vacuum line.
Get a copy of the vacuum diagram and go to work. Dale |
