Looking for a Tuner
I am in the process of building my 93 13b to be a medium street port single turbo with a power FC as the brain. I am in the Northern Colorado area and will be looking for either someone for me to take my car to or a remote tuner. Anyone know of good tuners in the area or willing to remote tune?

Id say prob just head to Denver or Springs, or get a more modern ECU that would be much better at remote tuning. No matter what you'll need to schedule Dyno time, so paying 1 shop for dyno use and the remote tuner as well. Don't think many remote tuners would use street logging.

Oh for sure planned on renting dyno time. I have a dyno about 2 blocks from my house that I was going to use and they have internet (already asked about remote tuning). I'd be fine with driving to denver or springs and just trailering the car there, do you know anyone specifically there? or a shop?
Just trying to get an idea since im still in the process of building my motor (majority of parts are supposed to show up today). |

If you're going to buy a new ECU I'd personally steer clear of adaptronic, phantom issues and broken or capricious logic seem to be a common issue along with non-functional functions.

Really?! Damn I really like what it offers. What would you recommend then Haltec Elite?
Ultimately it boils down to having a competent tuner though. An incompetent tuner will bungle even the best ECU, whereas a quality tuner will make anything work well (they'll just fucking hate you for making them work on a pos ecu  ). I'd be very careful who you pay to work on it... I've spoken to several folks I trust who have fixed plenty of cars that were "tuned" by trendy/popular names in this community. Just because somebody pays vendor fees doesn't mean they're an expert.. |
My 1st hand experience is with the AEM Infinity (on my S5T2) and the Link G4+ (on my FD), and I'd say both are very good platforms with similar price points and feature sets. That said, I would rate the user interface, tuning software and customer support of the Link orders of magnitude better than the AEM Infinity. Much shorter learning curve getting myself comfortable & productive tuning with the Link.

I daily drive my Fd reliably with an adaptronic module Ecu, drive it to multiple track events a year, beat on it and drive it home. Tuned by Shawn. Myself as well as many other have had positive results going this route.
People seem to have issues with any Ecu but the support I have received is the reason why I have chose this platform and out of wanting to help others enjoy their cars I recommend Shawn. Beautiful weather today and I will be driving my car full throttle with confidence. |
i recommend @dkwasherexd / GarageLife Daniel can help you out with remote tuning.

Is there any support for the PFC in the PNW? I still need help by an experienced hand.

I tune the powerfc and am located in the springs. I can also help those in other states with remote tuning. I will pm you.

I've heard of Adaptronic issues with early units years ago but I've not seen anything recently. Seems they had some growing pains but have firmed up over the years. Is there any evidence to the contrary that I've simply not come in contact with?

I went straight from a PFC to a motec M150 though, so I don't have personal experience with them. |
