Looking at getting a new Battery for my FD
Any recommendations? DieHard Gold? Interstate? Just want to see what everyone else was using
|
Interstate is probably the best battery there is. Diehard is crap, mostly marketing like Fram oil filter.
If you don't wanna spend $90 or so on an interstate, get one from Costco or Sam's club. They sell them for about $40 and it has a two yr full replacement warranty. Look for one with more CCA. |
I just pulled out an interstate from my car and put in the Diehard Gold. The reason. I work where they sell Diehards. Otherwise I may have went with the mini or dry cell type. I wouldnt wave my flag too hard for interstate. Deep cycle is the trend i guess.

I went with the larger/upgraded one that mazda sells and its done the best of all the batteries I've had over the years. Its good to get one that fits in the stock location with the top cover in place. I know of one FD that put a 3rd party like Diehard without the cover on. The battery exploded, car caught fire and insurance totalled the car out.

Hey Guys- I've got a BRAND NEW NTECH BMK if anyone wants it- I've used it for 2 weeks, I dont drive my car enough to keep a good charge in it...ill sell it for $200 obo....
thanks... |
What's the CCA on the ntech bmk? Does it start easily?
|
Rage-
Its about 300 I think- it saves alot of clutter around the engine bay which helps reduce heat....it starts up fine, if the car is started on a normal 1-2 day basis.....you can also benefit from a trickle charger about $20....im just not around my car over the weekedays... |
I just installed a 51R Interstate Battery and turbojeff's SS battery tray.....takes up less room and has alot of power...
|
Since my battery is located behind the me in the bin I have a dry cell battery, and will go with something like a Optima.
