Looking for bracket for front license plate

Just make one from some L-brackets from lowes? The stock ones attach under the front bumper rebar, extend out from the grille opening, then turn 90 degrees upward for the plate to mount to. Even if the dealer does still sell them, I doubt it would be worth the cost versus just making your own to stay legal.

Check Mazdatrix. Just bought one for my FC.

Like everyone is going to tell you it's just 2 L brackets. Look under your front bumper and find the two mounting holes and measure how far back they go. Head over to lowes or Home Depot and grab 2 L brackets that measure out long enough.

Or try PM'ing fritz or someone who has a warehouse of FD parts lying around and pick one up from them.

Yeah, post up a WTB post in the classifieds. Mazda had a very nice front plate bracket that bolts on to holes inside the front bumper opening. I'm not sure if it's still available new or not, or how much it runs.

You can make something, but the OEM bracket is going to be way better.

Do you have the OEM 93 bumper? I can look at my friends and if nothing is available, I would be glad to fab you a bracket ;-)

I have never seen an FD with one...but have you ever seen the stock bracket for FC's? It is THIN and gets bent up very easily. And all it is, is about 4 strips of thin gauge steel with 4 holes drilled in it. It does have the advantage of having a plastic trim cap on the top edges of the metal, but that's it. One could EASILY make one that would be stronger than the OEM with just some L brackets or other flat steel, a drill, and either bolt the pieces together or tack weld them. If you're worried about the color of the unfinished steel, the finished assembly could be painted or powdercoated.
