Locating Original Owners

Just curious, anyone had luck contacting the original owner of their FD, and if so, how did you find him/her? I have interest in finding out more about the history of my car for various purposes. Thanks.

So you can ask them "why in the HELL did you put neon lights and a Veilside body kit on this car!" ? :)

I think there are ways, it will probably take some phone calls and detective work.

Well...mine was easy, as I am the second owner. Well, third owner if you consider the 'middle owner' was a dealership.

There must be a way to do it, as I have been contacted several times over the years on vehicles I'd sold, sometimes years prior to the contact, by people wanting to know more about the car or truck.

I would start by running a carfax report. It will tell you what city and state the car was purchased in. Then I would call the Mazda dealership in that area and see if they can help you out.

If you are a AAA member, you should go to the local office and see if they can help you out.

I'm sure there are other ways too

Texas Title Registration has listed the previous owner to whom the car belonged.
Don't know other for states.

Yep, it was easy. He pulled me over about a year after I bought the car (he is/was a CHP officer). Such a wise-guy, lol.

Nah, he was just playing around. After my heart attack, we hit up a local burger joint to catch up.

Thats pretty cool. I'm a cop as well, gotta be careful with that stuff these days. You pull that with the wrong person, and you're getting sued, maybe fired. Cops just can't be people anymore.
