i challange anyone to have a better beater then mine because i have the ultimate beater! A beautiful 1982 1.3L carburated civic hatchback! I paid $150 for it and it runs great and i get almost 40mpg. it is also fully loaded including no radio, no window rollers(vice grips are used instead,ha), missing lock cylinder on passenger side door, and a broken one on the drivers side, missing hatch lock(yea so every time i hit a bump my hatch flys up a bit and makes a loud bang), no AC, broken hydralic lifters for the hatch, and to top it off includes a 4 speed manual transmission. yea and the only lock that does work on the car with the key is the one on the gas door, so i dont have to worry about anyone stealing my gas! well if anyone has a better beater then mine id like to know about it. but in all seriousness, every day getting in that POS and driving it all day knowing that i have a FD back at my garage that i cant drive right now really is depressing

You win, Red. ;)
Mine's a 2005 Ford "Tortoise" company car and a 98 SVT Cobra. |
I have a 1980 RX-7. I don't like to call it a beater because i like it alot. 24 years old and runs strong.

After 8 years of Daily Driving my FD, I finally bought a Daily Beater: 1991 Integra AT I must admit that I like 20+MPG and the cushy suspension.

1993 super awesome stock color green 5sp SL2 Saturn DOHC with neon light under my driver seat (my parents gave it to me for a stocking stuffer, and just felt bad if i didn't use it somewhere). I get about 27-30 mpg, has been really reliable, never had any major problems with it, since our family bought way back in 1994.

My DD is a 92 Integra LS with Leather and all power options. I get 29-34mpg.
I am trying to justify having a 2nd 2-seater and get a MKI Mr2 NA (35mpg!). However, RWD 2 seater as a DD and winter car as backup to a...turbocharged RWD 2 seater...doesn't seem to add up ;) |

1992 Mazda Miata
I'm surprised almost no FD guys have Miatas. If you live in a place with good weather, don't need to haul a lot of stuff around and are confident in your masculinity you can't have more fun on the street than with a Miata. I'd sell my FD first. |
Beater.... Anything made in the USA (common domesitic) or that has a 1950's piece reciprocating of "technology" that has 8 cylinders configured in a V pattern that would be more suited for a boat anchor.

after having it for about 2 months now and no problems, yesterday it had its first. i was on I-95 North and i lost half my exhaust. from the cat back there is nothing. DAMN now i actually have to put some money into it. im gonna leave the whole piece that broke off in my car until i get pulled over for not having a muffler on there so i can tell the cop that it just broke off a hour ago, then ill get it fixed |
My beater is a 1995 Honda Accord Coupe EX.
