lateral accelaration

I have read an old motor trend that show a metting of a FD vs Supra TT and it said that the supra had a better lateral acceleration. It look pretty strange to me. What do you guys thing of that ?

They do lateral acceleration on a skidpad, which is easy.....now look at some high speed slalom times...that's where the Supra becomes a big fat jellybean!

lateral acceleration is just grip, which the supra has tons of. i've seen .98 for one, i have also seen .97 for an rx7, so they are pretty close. an rx7 will handle better though in transitions b/c of its lighter weight. I have heard a lot of good things about how supras handle too though, they just aren't as good as an rx7.

i think it was car and driver or maybe another magazine.....
but i had always seen .98 for touring model and 1.03 for R1

ive also read that on a few websites

I have the September 1993 issue of Car and Driver in front of me. It says:

Mazda RX-7: .99g on skidpad

Toyota Supra: .95g on skidpad

This many years later is would probably just matter who was running the better tires.
