Last day with the FD? :-(

Couple is driving 5 hours with cash to see it. I'm having 2nd thoughts on selling it, but
I guess I need to be a grown up. Prob the last toy I'll have. If it goes through I'll
point him to the forum. It's been a great source of info. :bigthumb:

And kids: Don't mix alcohol and X girlfriends. You lose all your toys.

i know the feeling you're going through. i'm on my 2nd FD, but when I sold my first one, I had a couple come down by train to pick it up and drive it home. It'll be sad when you see it driving off for the last time! Hope the new owner treats it right :)

RotaryResurrection 08-03-05 12:28 PM

What'd you do, knock her up?

FNQuick 08-03-05 12:39 PM

Yep, alcohol = impaired judgement=no protection. I'm too old for this crap.

PhoenixDownVII 08-03-05 12:45 PM

The previous owner of my car actually had tears in his eyes as I left with it.

should of had a condom in the glovebox!! JK.. Sorry to here that your gain is your loss..

travisorus rex 08-03-05 03:51 PM

I am sorry you had to let go of the car in this way. Best of luck.

WHIPSrx7 08-03-05 04:58 PM

I totally understand. I might be selling my car VERY shortly and am not looking forward to selling it. But I know that these past two years of owning her were just the beginning of my love for the FD and my ownership of the FD. Not having an rx-7 for me will be just temporary if I do have to sell it.

Again, though, sorry to hear about your pain.

Craig

P.S. We sound like a support group of some sort. Great to have such a loving community/family. :)

Your car is fast enough that you could make it to the border by daylight. Hasta la vista, Baby!

i saw the previous owner of my car EXACLTY one full year after i took it away from him..i was at a light and he comes to my left and does a rev..i didnt even look, then someone from the passenger side yells my name and i look, i see his face looking at me and his wife in the passenger seat..i was like WHOA, whats up..

then he starts to ask me how the car is running and he wishes he never sold it (he has another one anyway lol) and that he used that money from the car to do the wedding (the wife showed me the ring as he said that) and the ring was pretty big lol..

i can tell from the look of his face that he missed the car cause i explained to him how well the car is running and how well i kept up with maintaining it..its def a heartbreaker letting go a car you truely love..

i remember when i sold my talon, the night i dropped it off at the guys house (my dad was bullshitting with the new owner) and i was taking off my plates and i was actually crying like a little bitch LOL..literally, as i was taking off the plates, i had tears come down like a waterfall..thank god it was nighttime so i could hide my face a bit but still, i never thought i could actually cry that much for a car..

FNQuick 08-03-05 10:13 PM

Well, it's gone. Just an empty space in the garage and some FD posters. Not many
left in the shape she was in. But I'm not crying, I just have something in my eye.
I'll have exaggerated memories about how badass it was and how it crushed everything on the road. I think he'll be a good owner and take good care of her.
:bigthumb:
Thanks for all the help guys, now its back to the Honda, VTEC just isn't the same. :(

7_rocket 08-03-05 10:16 PM

hate to rain on your parade but....

Married -> with children AND Rx-7 (s).

Larz 08-03-05 10:26 PM

That's my worst fear. A chick getting knocked up and having to sell my true love. I don't care if she swears up and down she's on birth control. I still pull out. Too many women trying to trap a man.

Getting married (to her) was not really an option for me. So now it's lawyers, med bills and court. Doesn't seem real just yet. May sell the Lude too, buy a used s2000 and have enough left to cover everything. Not the same, but still fun. Damn, I guess
I need a backseat though. I will be back guys, just a matter of time.
:)
