Koyo May Caused This Problem!

SUP!

Well i just bought this koyo radiator. and took almost a day to install it (had to get the coolant/water circulating through the system) and man this radiator rocks! temps are a constant (87c) but i have a majior problem that i need help with!

After i installed the radiator i had a friend help me. onced the temps went to 95c the car started reving on its own to 2k. A friend of mine had told me that the idle was too high and that he took a screw driver and twisted something near the oil filter to put the idle lower. 2 days past and i drove the car. and when started up the car idles @ 2k (the car has no ports) after its warmed up it revs from 1-2k constantly. if you take your foot off the gas the car acts as if your foot is on the gas still crusing. doesnt slow down. The revs wont go below 1.5k so it wont slow down.

Second my turbo isnt boosting. I did a hard run once and i saw the boost go to 2psi max. so im wondering whats the deal with that. could it be something i did wrong with the install of the radiator or something he did when he lowered the revs ? Engine is a rebuilt with 3000 miles ago stock port. Mods in signature

He adjusted the idle screw. The one under the TB is the 'fine' adjustment, the 'coarse' adjustment is near where the throttle cable connects to the TB. Search for Idle Adjustment and you should find the procedure.

For the boost problem, make sure all the couplers are placed properly and the clamps are secure but not overtight.

It seems you have a vaccum leak somewhere.

IT COULD BE THAT CAUSE I HAVE A GRILL ON THAT TUBE THAT GOES TO THE TURBO. SO I DONT THINK I COULD be anything to do with something going inside the turbo!

So you've got over 1000 posts and a single turbo fd and you don't know about the idle adjusting screw???

Vacuum leak as in a vacuum hose is off somewhere.

No need for all caps...

just to give you guys the result of my problem. it dealt with the idle. one of the hoses got loose and had caught dirt in the hose.

lol

someone should be a happy camper now that his probs are fixed, kinda funny i must say, some people get all freaking worked up over stuff, but forget that it is probly something simple, that is usally overlooked, anywayz good luck with your FD there

Dont get me wrong. i do my own work. theres just stuff im still learning that i dont know! Im in school so its not like im trying to learn everything so when i get on here i dont look like an idiot. I've got over 800 post and I'm still almost clueless. Lots of posts just means a guy has asked a lot of questions or has answered a lot of questions.

I miss the ratings system we had. A red dot usually meant the member was clueless or had spent too much time arguing in the Lounge...
