Koyo/Fluidyne Rad. Questions. ALREADY SEARCHED
 

Ok I've just spent 2 hours searching and I didn't find the answers that I wanted.:Wconfused
I'm going to buy ether a Koyo or a Fluidyne, but I want my A/C condenser to still fit. I'm leaning more towards the Koyo. I know the Koyo needs more modification to fit, I've read that the Koyo cools better too.
In post #16 here rx7club.com/showthread.php?p=6561615#post6561615 showed how he fit his, but didn't say if the A/C fit. Also do they have the fitting fir the AST?
Any info would be great.

yes and yes(if you are talking R1443)

The A/C condenser is not a problem with either radiator. Both have the fitting on the bottom tank for the AST. I doubt there is much of a difference in cooling.

there is no fitment issue with neither but for the money you can get Koyo cheaper and a larger radiator

From what I've read on here, the Fluidyne fits much better than the Koyo, but even the Fluidyne may have minor fitment problems.

AC may need to be relocated, etc., for the Koyo. With the Fluidyne, there could be minor problems with interference with the OE or PFS air cleaner box.

Try searching for "fitment."

There needs to be a little cutting done on the Koyo radiator itself for it to fit perfectly but other then that you don't need to move any other parts around.

not to hog the OP but i am curious are the inlet and outlets in same as stock radiator on the koyo ?
i have a hardline on my inlet and outlet tubes

I got my Koyo a few weeks ago fits great and yes the inlet and outlets are in the same place as the stock rad.

I put in a Fluidyne 10 years ago and had no fitment issues. My AC died with the PFC and Commander. I rarelly get above 180 F unless I really push the car. My guess is that does not matter which you install.

I have the 2" Koyo and do not remember any fitment issues at all and my a/c was not a problem either and it works.

when i installed my koyo i did a front mount and ripped out the a/c so i had no real issues at all, well the greddy upper brackets kind of took some work to fit in the new position :rofl:

I fitted the Fluidyne four or more years ago. Fitment was not an issue at all, plug and play on all hoses and bolt ups. This is a quality radiator. I did lower the A/C condenser a 1/4-1/2 inch or so plus-minus using longer bolts and alum. tube spacers, this was to provide the same airspace gap as OEM .. Rad. not any issue with fit and alignment and fan shroud install. I did fit larger "Greddy" IC and custom ducting at same time, this did require a little alignment work due to very tight fit. Stock I/c would be no problem. I spent more time making baffles to stop air leakage around rad and gather intake air than on anything else .. and these gaps are their regardless of Rad OEM or otherwise.
