Knightsports ECU + airpump removal = decent idle?

I know if I remove the airpump on the stock ECU there's a good chance the idle will be off.

I know there are certain 'chipped' ECU's that aren't effected by that, but is the Knightsports ECU one of them?

Longshot question, but I thought I would put it out there!

hmm........

i installed the greddy pullies on my old FD (stock w/ factory ECU) that i had and removed the air pump and it idles fine. daily driver, didn't have any problem.

My current FD, I installed Knightsports 4Beat ECU first when i just had full exhaust, and it idles like shit until i blocked off the hose connected to the top of the Intake elbow and it idle and ran perfect. Then i installed bomz pullies (same as greddy) and removed the airpump. and it still idles and runs great. I do have slight rough idle bounce after the car warms up, but i think that's from having the downpipe and midpipe ... and u get the rotary rumble... its even more noticeable if ur car's ported...

pleases correct me if i'm wrong. anyone??..

the knightsport ecu are set for individual tunes - whatever the customer has on his/her car - so there's no definite yes or no answer.

however... as removing the airpump would make a car non-roadworthy (ie: you couldn't pass the biennial (every 2yrs) registration check) - it would seem highly unlikely that the ecu would be tuned to specifically deal with that issue.

not to say it will or won't work...
