Knight Sports tower plate

Has anyone seen Knight Sports tower plate honeycombed carbon fiber UP CLOSE ?
I'm thinking of buying one. Increases stiffness but may also increase heat unless you have a vented hood. |
I have seen them up close, carbon fiber looks nice and the quality is overall good. but in my opinion, it takes allot away from the look of the engine bay, and like you said, they are known to overheat.

The Knightsports does a better job of hiding the engine, which is why I would get one but if you notice they are both RHD cars and there is a hole for the brake fluid cap.
|
Not to mention I think it's like a GRAND for that sucker. Can you say rip-off?

i'd rather stick to a strut brace and call it good.

N.A.M.S (nagisa auto) make some that wont take up alot of space but increases stiffness and helps during brakeing

You know, I once made a nice stainless steel heat shield over the exhaust side of the turbo and the dp then continued it over and around the filler neck, alt and most of the rats nest area. It was meant to be a heat shield for the exh. and cover the "ugly" wiring on the top of the engine as well....but I ended up taking it of the engine portion because I saw a 10*c increase in wtr temp. So im wondering if these covers might hold in heat as well? my $0.02

^That really looks like about all they are good for.. The panspeed looks better, but I just think they would be a waste of money.

-J- P.S. I talked with Phil and he said you're going To DGRR...Well if so I look forward to meeting you Rich (haha and your FD). rotor on!! |
I think it looks pretty good. The rx-7 engine bay always looked messy to me. I doubt it would increase stiffness however so it is probably strictly for looks.

I like that panspeed one a lot, really cleans up the A/C lines and such in the corners of the engine bay. By the looks of it i think its just for estetics though, just sits on top of the towers, cant really see it working as a brace too.
Now with all these fiberglass guys on here, how come no one can come up with something like this for us for a reasonable price, Shine Auto work some magic!! |
it kinda makes it look like a rx-8 engine bay but the panspeed cover looks way better.

Just thought I'd post up, since another customer asked...
The Panspeed brace is officially discontinued. I pleaded with them to make one for me (well, for a customer hehe), and they said it cost so much to make it, that it wasn't worth it, because they'd have to charge around $4,000 for it. So I said "Oh ok...thanks" lol. The Knightsports one is real nice, and is readily available. I get great pricing w/ 'em, so if you'd like one, lemme know! ;) Thanks, ~Ramy |

It's coming...slowly but surely... RosettaStone ain't bad at all! :p: Only prob. is, they don't include words like "differential," "titanium" and "boost controller"

That's too bad, I would definitely rock that Panspeed cover... too bad it didn't ever come in polished aluminum...
