K&W or CRC Block Weld?
 

Trying to save a little more money for the rebuild, but I'm wondering if anyone knows which would be better to help delay the rebuild... CRC or K&W?

What are the differences of each?

I know that CRC is copper based, but I also heard K&W was something different...

Okay, sorry about this if it's a stupid question, but what does he mean by "bypass the radiator and heater core", and "clean out the turbo coolant supply line banjo bolts after treatment"?

Also, I couldn't find any information on differences between K&W and CRC in the thread. Does anyone have any comparisons?

In other words, anywhere your coolant flows the block weld can go and clog up those passages. So, in other words, if you don't want to tear up your heater core and radiator, you would block them off when you apply the block weld. Keep in mind that coolant also flows to your turbos.

IMO, don't bother with the block weld unless you are going to replace all that stuff when you do get a rebuild or a reman (which is a good idea whether or not you do the block weld).

mahjik...once again you beat me to it.

just do it right...or not at all. your radiator will be toast if you dont listen to mahjik...and those turbo lines....uhm....no way would i be doing that.

youll kick yourself in the ass six months from now if u arent patient and doing it right.

would you rather have a freshly rebuilt car six months from now or would you rather have one with a pile of cooling issues that are damaging the new motor you will be getting?
