vel525 10-18-04 11:19 AM

are these just going in the stock pop-ups? or are you doing a sleepy conversion? or sleek conversion. looking forward to seeing how they work. good luck.

What company makes them, I'm concerned with light quality and longevity from the lesser known brands...

I cant wait to see what looks like, I've been considering this for my stock housings as they look fine to me, they just dont produce enough light.

Good luck man, see if you can borrow a full fledged digi cam for the install and trial run.

HID conversion kits are now illegal, BTW.

Elegant Black Monster 10-18-04 01:38 PM

The kits are illegal to sell but one can still buy all the individual parts of a kit just not the kit itself.

Converting a head lamp that was not originally HID is illegal, no matter where you get the parts from. You are right, however, that it is now illegal to sell a complete conversion kit for non-HID applications.

Well if they have purple headlights I'd imagine they WILL get pulled over. But if you have something like a 4000-6300k bulb which is still mainly white, you might get away with it :D

everyone who is not a serious car buff thinks my rx-7 is a 2000 or so. these cars still look new to the untrained eye

AgentUnkind 10-18-04 02:54 PM

Anyone want to fill me in as to why conversion kits are illegal?

Alex

OK, blue/white/purple compared to halogen "yellow". Yes, you might get away with it, but you should be aware that you can be ticketed for it.

Because a converted headlight is unlikely to have a legal light dispersion pattern. Drivers complaining of being blinded by oncoming cars with HID conversions is what lead to their becoming illegal.
