Just Powder Coated my Borbet Type T's

I just Powder Coated my Rims in Black Chrome. I have two sets of these wheels, so I figured I would experiment with these. The originals are silver/machined lip. Fronts are 17x8 with 235/45 and rears are 17x9.5 with 265/40's. Cost: 1 hour/wheel cleaning it, and $50/wheel with Black chrome finish with powdercoated Clear. Creer Sheetmetal did it in Provo, Utah. What do you think?

If any of you are interested in my other set, let me know. Now that I am set on this finish I can part with the others. That would also make the wife happy. They are exactly the same, offsets are 35 front 40 rear. I like them becauser they look like the 99 specs but with more rear width and better offset. I could sell them as is (in excellent condition) or refinish them like these or in another powder coat color. Here is a pic of them now. Let me know if interested. Thanks.

Get rid of those Kumho Ecsta Supras?

Sorry about the kuhmos, I like them. Sure they aren't as sticky as so2's or pilots, but they seem to eat vipers with 345 pilots for a fraction of the price. They also break away a little sonner than the others which makes it more fun the explore the limits of the car on normal roads. I rally race a 510 and love to drift and drive sideways and drive in the rain. They cut the bill and my driving style. I have a friend of mine with a beautiful FD, with volks and so3's thats been in magazines, the ironic thing is that he bought them because they are the best (I can't argue) but the ironic thing is that he doesn't drive it because he can't afford to. What a sad thing. If I had the money for a $1000 set of tires I would most definately have every other imaginable mod done on my car, and then I probobly couldn't justify driving it because it's too nice. I think next time around I might spring on a set of kuhmo MX's.

Hey cavellm, what do you like running?

About the extra set of rims, I think around $550 unfinished in stock form, or that plus costs on powder coating. The powder Coating is done by Creer Sheetmetal in Provo, Utah. Joe Jr. it the guy who does the coating.

Oh cavellm, I can't say that I have every had the pleasure of meeting up with a telephone pole. As you would probobly agree surface conditions are almost always the limiting factor, not how much you spend on those pretty sidewalls.

I had the Ecsta Supras on my FD when I first got it. They break away a LOT sooner than any other tire I've had. That's what I didn't like about them, they didn't stick. That was also about 100 hp ago.

Wish I had the money to get S-03's on my car, but right now I've got Potenza RE730's. Not too pricey, but very good handling.

Surface conditions weren't an issue when I grazed a pole, it was lack of sleep :)
