Just Installed Venom 1600cc Side Feed injectors

I have just brought a pair of these injectors and the seem to be mint, I just finished installing them this morning, so I have gone from 550 & 850 to 850 & 1600's

When I took it for a drive afterwards it is running like crap, I have a PFC but it seems to have protection on the setting so I can't change the injector information.

It's running rich as- I take it since the PFC still thinks it has the 550's that will be why.

Does any body know the lag times for these injectors and all the standard ones?
I'm going to take it to get tuned next week for the new setup and that would be great to know.

Also can anyone confirm

i think you can go as large as 1300 without the data loigit. adjust the primaries and stay off boost/high rpm and it should do fine. assumiing the injectors dont suk. let us know

Are these the ones off of ebay?

I recommend getting a Datalogit for the tuning and the ability to enter larger-than-1500cc/min injector sizes. The ratio of the injector sizes needs to be correct for the PowerFC to do the transition properly, so one option (if you don't have a Datalogit) is to enter the sizes as 850*(1500/1600) primary and 1500 secondary. In other words, scale the injector sizes by the same amount, giving 797pri/1500sec and 64.7% (550/850) for the primary ratio (or whatever it's called). The actual flow rates of the injectors vary with fuel pressure anyway, so scaling the sizes in this manner is functionally no different from changing the base fuel pressure. The PowerFC can deal with such scaling or fuel pressure changes with proper tuning. I think that should work, but proceed carefully. In essence, the PowerFC really needs to know the correct primary-to-secondary ratio (to get the transition right), and you can tune around the rest to still end up with good results.

It is going in to get tuned next Tuesday, will post results then, I will also see if I can get the 1600cc injectors flow tested at the same time and post some results on that too.

I must be the only person who has a strange setting on the apexi Power FC computer that doesn't allow changes to certin things with out a data logit

Well I had my car tuned yesterday!!
It wasn't good, the tuner was using the data logit and was trying to set it up for the 850cc primary's and 1600cc Venom secondary's
But we seemed to have problems, originally when it was set up with the 550's and the 850's it ran great, then I removed the rats nest & things went down hill a bit from there, I think this could be something to do with the problem, as soon as I removed it the heat light came on on the dash and then at about 6000 rpm it starts flashing which I take will be an error code, haven't found out what one yet.

When he tried to set it up for the new injectors, he couldn't get it to stop pouring the fuel in, I even gave him the specs for the 850's in the primary specs 65% 0.04ms

I'm sure it should be able to run with the 850's and 1600's, other people run it, but the tuner said I would have to downsize back to the 550's to get it to idle.

Any idea's fellas? or do you need any more info to figure out my problem?

take it a to a tuner that know's what he's doing ;)

Thats the thing he's meant too!
Can't find anyone else in New Zealand that no's what they are doing, IT SUX!!
I'll have to try and do it my self, which also sux, I just want it to be running mint as a daily driver and no more issues
