Just installed clutch

I just installed an exedy twin plate cerametallic clutch on my car after driving on a slipping clutch for quite some time and....WOW. I'm completely satisfied with the way the clutch is grabbing...AMAZING. I like the way the clutch pedal feels, it is slightly firmer then stock, but in a good way. Nothing else really to say but I love the clutch so far (still breaking it in). I'd like to thank the forum members for all the advice that I recieved.

i am in need of a new clutch in the near future here...still running the stock at 53k miles with limited slip!! they usually only last to 40k-45k miles. yes, i know, i'm amazing

anyways i was also looking at the exedy twin plate but the act stage 2 clutch is also very nice i'm hearing... how does it catch? i'm not real big on the quick catching race clutches. being a weekend driver/racer i would like something on the performance end, but that still can be used for recreation. do you think this would be the clutch for me?

i hope you upgraded the flywheel why you were in there

flywheel really depends on your application. Street/Drag, autocross, etc due to the low torque numbers of the 13B. ACT has a nice puck clutch and street strip model out depending on what your preference/application is as well.
good luck.

i stated my application...weekend racer/recreational driver, preferably a clutch that has a little play in it :sadwavey:

ACT SS is a great all around clutch. Just make sure you replace the other clutch items when you do the clutch (wedge collar, clutch fork, etc). FDNewbie has a link somewhere that lists all of the things you may need to change while you have the tranny out.

Don't skimp on a few bucks (ask me how I know) and replace it all while you are in there. I ended up breaking my clutch fork, so I ended up having to do the job twice.

good luck,

Charlie

The exedy twin disc should come with it's own flywheel...unless you were joking...

recreational/weekend racer can be autocross or drag.
my point is that drag launchs can be tricky with a light weight flywheel so it's not always a good idea to swap out the factory one.

This clutch in my opinion would be perfect for you. It is easy to drive around town in with traffic, uphill etc. It gives you a little leeway ie you can slip it a little to take off smooth while in traffic. The flywheel comes with it, I believe its 14lbs, but when you add the counterweight to it (which is a must and weighs around 5-6lbs) it comes out to around 20lbs (a little bit lighter then stock from the info I gathered, stock is 22-24lbs). I did notice a slight difference in rev speed (haven't been able to romp on it yet but its seems to rev and drop revs slightly faster). The clutch catches real nice though, I love it. I need to put my s03s back on now so I'll have better traction lol.

I spent alot of time looking at/for this clutch before I bought a used one... yesterday actually. The two best places for price are going to be Rishie @ Auto RnD and Dynamic Autosports. Dynamic is an authorized Exedy Racing Dealer.
