Just got new engine installed
I just got my new engine and I have some questions....
1st... I installed the PFC also Now my engine is idling like an ass!!! 1k - 1.5k and back... when it's cold it sits at 2k. is this normal? Also... will I need to modify my PFC map for my mod levels? flywheel Big Port on engine pettit intake dp mp cat-back power pulley Supra fuel pump Stock IC. TIA |
For the *^* time, The PFC makes the idle so much more efficient that it can not control the idle RPMs. It controls throttle body bypass air flow through the ICS solenoid, fuel, and timing.
This is assuming that the TPS, and other componets are in normal working condition which is usually the case. If the idle is way off, then it goes to the extremes trying to control it. This end up causing the cyclic behavior you are having. THUS IT IS UP TO YOU TO HELP THE PFC CONTROL THE IDLE. You have to manually decrease the air flow through the throttle body to a point where the PFC can control idle smoothly. There are two ways to do that. I'll leave it to you to become a real mechanic of your car and figure how to do that. For your next question, yes. Go to the ECU forum |
