HELP!

Only mods are Apexi Intake & Radiator.

We checked intake/turbo piping. No tears! I know my airpump is bad cause after 3k.. it stops/sticks..then keeps going.
Following advice on the forums I've disconnected the air pump. Sound still remains however I can actually rev and hear my vented Bypass/CCV now.

If anyones local in the south bay area (I live in torrance). And wants to investigate let me know! This sucks.. I finally bought my dream car..and has yet to experience the full capacity of it! :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

I only get boost randomly in 1st. Sometimes 2nd and 3rd.. thats if i mash WOT or downshift from 4th to 3rd..it makes that odd sound and then the 2nd turbo comes on hard.

bad charge control actuator

poorboy 11-21-08 08:33 PM

Yup....had the same problem and the same sound when my CCA went bad.

MOBEONER 11-22-08 08:58 AM

i have the same exact problem and my ccv is good.

jonnyrx7 11-22-08 10:51 AM

Any idea how much it'd be to replace it? or where I can find one. I just bought my FD...totally coming from a different world. haha

well i just bought another ccv from another member for $20....the only thing is that you have to take your y pipe out to remove and replace the ccv. not bad just time consuming.most people would much rather go none sequential not to deal with all these actuators and hoses, but i personally would rather not...

jonnyrx7 11-22-08 04:54 PM

so Im getting 2 different things. is it the CCA or CCV? Im assuming its the CCA

i am sorry its actuator..for some reason i keep calling it valve.

jectrx7 11-22-08 06:23 PM

did you try to troubleshoot the sequencial system. like the key on key off method. that would of told you if it is your cca. i had the same problem but it ended up being one of my tca soleniods.

when you said proton torpedo sound i was getting a picture in my head of Star Trek trying to remember the sound. then i thought to myself, hey that's gotta sound really neat. watched your video and it's really disappointing to what i heard.

replace cca

Whats the Key On/Off method.. As I said.. I just bought the FD.

And can anyone point me in the right direction of where to purchase a new Charge Control Actuator?

Thanks so much guys

jonnyrx7 11-30-08 01:16 PM

Ordered the CCA from another member on the forums. Waiting for it to come in. If anyone has links or directions on how to replace/install shoot them my way. Im totally in the dark about this... and I'm stoked to finally feel the power of my new car!

jonnyrx7 12-15-08 10:09 AM

REPLACED THE CCA THE SOUND REMAINS!!!!

Could it be a blown turbo? Flapper in the why pipe sticking? Bad solenoid? I have no idea! :wallbash:  :wallbash:

If anyone lives in socal and has the time to check out my FD let me know!
