Looking good Paul

rotorbrain 12-29-04 10:55 PM

i did most all of the work myself. david garfinkle gave me a few pointers as well as a few kick in the pants. . . and he reassembled my throttle body.

paul

oh, and he also countersunk my throttle-blade bar. . . thingy. . . now, there are no bulky screws for the air to move across. :D

TT_Rex_7 12-29-04 10:57 PM

My father and I own a machine shop. We're acctually machining an rx8 rotor to 9.0:1 compression ratio or 8.5:1 if enough material is there starting next week to stick in the 7 for a lightweight rotor. :D

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/lightweight-rotors%3Dless-torque-379771/

Where are they located, and do they have a website?

Man that's awesome work on the LIM, how long did it take you to do that? Any pointers? Looks like you dropped 5 lbs. from it!

rotorbrain 12-30-04 12:21 AM

it took days of staring and figuring. . . then some welding. . . then some smoothing. pretty much, it was a major pain in the bobo!!!!! i really dont know if id care to do it again. . . though, i have another manifold laying around just begging to be sold!!!!! :D

paul

RX-187 12-30-04 12:33 AM

rotorbrain 12-30-04 12:38 AM

guys, i just realized something. . . the artificial light really doesnt do this stuff justice. . . direct sunlight makes this stuff really stand out. . . wish i could share that experience. hahahaha

paul

vellj001 12-30-04 01:16 AM

Now that relly looks a great job is coming through. I particularly like the color so good looking. I am starting to think is is better than the stainless steel look.

My complimnets. :bigthumb:

rotoboy661 12-30-04 01:25 AM

looks sick man

what else is getiing done in that color??

did u do it??

rotorbrain 12-30-04 01:30 AM

thanks, i did some other pieces in the engine bay the same color, and there are some other pieces in silver. . . very high metallic content. this stuff sparkles in sunlight!!!!

paul

yes, i did it. . . though david garfinkle put my throttle body back together and countersunk my throttle blade mounting screw holes for better flow across the blades.

LizardFC 12-30-04 04:46 AM

That looks really goooooood. Looks like you guys did a great job on that throttle body too. I hope you bring that over to Deals Gap in April :)
