Intermittent Light/blinker switch

I did a search and didn't really come up with anything, but I was wondering if anyone else has run into this problem:
Last night I came home, shut off my car/lights. Walk out of the garage thinking nothings up because everything is off. This morning I get out to the car, battery is dead.
I'm trying to figure out what caused it. Checked to make sure lights had been turned off and interior lights were all off. They were. I throw the charger on the car and sure enough the gauges and parking lights come on. Check the switch again... it's off. I click the lights to on they pop up all operational. Turn the switch back to off and the lights turn off, then slowly fade back in. Try this a few more times and same thing happens. So I'm wondering if I should pull the whole switch assembly apart and try to find the problem, just get a used one off someone who is parting out their car, or if there might be something else to check.

That stuff is switched with the TNS relay. It's "fading" back on? I'd check the relay before the switch. The relay reed might be f'ed up.

While you have the relay out, check to see if the switch is actually grounding the control pin on the box, with the switch off. It should not be.
