interior rattles
 

i know this is probably a beaten to death issue and i know these are old cars with substandard parts to start with....but still, the rattles are driving me crazy!

any tips on reducing the rattles?

Michael's (the craftstore) has self adhesive black felt 8x10 sheets...a lil thicker than the oem felt but does the job. I've used it in between some panels/ plastics to reduce the rattles. Worked for me.

Check for interior panels with cracked tabs they are a big source.

I like the clear silicone caulk. It remains pliable, tolerates the heat and adheres well but will come off cleanly if you need to remove it. It's also nearly invisible on the black interior pieces. It's worked well for me on dozens of the plastic-on-plastic interior squeaks and rattles. I've also used it for the panel to panel rattles like inside the door between the door reinforcement to door sheet metal and between the hood sheet metal and reinforcements. $3 or $4 for a tube...and I get the good stuff.
