Interior issues..
 

Okay well my recently purchased FD is really beat up on the inside..The seats are very worn,the door panels are all cracked,the interior is just a mess..Is it possible to go somewhere and get my entire interior re-upholstered and everything,or do I need certain replacement items,or what?Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, depending on how much you want to spend.....

Check the for sale sections, you can find replacement door panels in decent shape for around a 100 bucks a piece. new ones are 1000 a piece.

Seats can either be cheap or expensive. You can buy a new skin for your seats for about 500 bucks, plus whatever an upholstery shop is going to charge you labor to install them. Or you can buy some sort of racing seat, but this can easily run 2k plus for a pair with rails and whatnot. Some seats alone run 2k+ A PIECE so you will just have to decide what you need, and how much you can spend.

Floor mats can be had for around 60 bucks new.

Premolded carpet kits I think are around 400 or 500.

If the panels are peeling, you can remove the factory coating and respray it with Plasti Dip. Works very well.


If I was you, I'd search the for sale section for used panels, pay someone to clean the carpet you have in the car if it is just dirty and then cover it with new floor mats, paint the panels with plasti dip, and reskin the seats. Probably run you about 800 to 1000 to do it this way.

And if you find a pair of panels that are not cracked but look dirty as hell, don't worry about it, they clean up very easily. I used 409 and a bristle brush and it removed even the scuff marks left behind from shoes leaving rubber marks on the door, then I just cleaned them with soap and water to get rid of the 409. Takes some work, but my tan door panels were pretty dirty and they look pretty much new now.

Thanks for all the advice..The thing is,the interior is tan and I can't stand tan interiors so I was looking to convert it all to black..Is there any form of spray or anything that can be used to convert some of the objects inside?

Black panels are very hard to get and, if you do find someone in the for sale section parting one out, you better be on top of it 'cause they go really fast. You will need to constantly check the for sale section and ebay. Good luck
