Interior bulb replacement with LEDs (before/after pictures)
3 Attachment(s)
I ordered an LED bulb replacement kit on Ebay.. so far I have only replaced the dome lights, but I will soon do the others. One interesting thing is the glovebox bulb is not the right size in this kit--the bulb in my glovebox is tiny. Also, I'm not sure exactly how to remove the existing bulb from it. Anyone have any experience with this?
Anyways, I know there have been threads on this before, but I got some good quality photos showing the difference before/after in case it is helpful to anyone. The LEDs are definitely much brighter--though I'm not sure yet if I'm 100% sold on the different lighting temperature (much less warm). Also, I managed to break the tabs on the dome light cover.. it popped back in okay, but I'm concerned how well it will stay in over time. If you're curious, I was able to get these photos by setting my Sony NEX-7 on a gorilla pod stand sitting on the bins and using a 12mm ultrawide lens. I had the camera set to manual operation so all the settings were the same for each shot (for true comparison). |
i just did this myself because i had to order a 10 LED pack off amazon to replace the front running light bulbs.
the LED interior bulbs make life easier for sure. |
Could you take a picture of the glovebox bulb? I know the socket rotates freely and might be hard to pop off.
The map light lens isnt too expensive to replace. Overall seems like a much needed thing to do |

Yeah, I wanted to get all three pictures from the exact same perspective/framing but I bumped the camera during the install... think it's close enough tho. It clearly makes a huge difference.
I've taken a picture of my glovebox bulb... any thoughts? |

I believe it's the same as the rear license plate light
