Found this on YouTube. Your thoughts??

I can't stand hearing someone say "uhhhhh... ummmm...." more than a couple times in an entire conversation. Think about your words, then speak.... Please.

don't smoke crack, ladies and gentlemen.

interesting? i think not..

wow, gotta love the south, lol.

60 psi on all 4 faces huh :D?

What a low rent production.

You know, sometimes you do what you gotta do.
The guy claims it works, raises compression by freeing up the seals.

Unless there's physical damage, it might be a way to solve the problem without disassembling the engine.

What I want to know is what process of thought resulted in developing this proceedure?

a friend was tinkering with the idea of an air powered beetle. guess the rotary seems like a better suited candidate...

You do understand that the compressed air is not spining the motor completly? It is actuually spining back and forth between two rotor faces. This is the reason for the motor rocking back and forth like it does. I think this would be a pretty good way to work the apex seals.

Kind of a neat idea if you ask me.

I might go work for this guy!!!lol
You think if he's going to do more of these he might try making them flow a little better...UHHH Ummm UHH

Pretty clever.

Yeah, the video and the host could use a little polishing, but I applaud him for the effort :)

Agreed. I thought the vid might have some value, but damn, it was kinda hard to get past that dirty nasty t-shirt. Since he had to have known he was doing a vid that day, why not clean up a little?

The video's creator posted the link to that vid in the audio/visual section a few months back. I think he even posted the before and after compression numbers if I'm not mistaken.

I watched that video last night and aside from the obvious annoyances, he gives the broke do-it-yourselfers one last chance before forking over some serious cash. And if it can even get back some compression then that's a motor that can be put back in the car while they search for the next engine.

Carbon locked engines seem to be less of a problem on FD's and moreso on FC - this is a VERY common FC problem.

That's a really neat idea hooking the air compressor up like that. I can definitely see how that would work in certain circumstances.

Low-rent production, but, hey, he went through the trouble, made the video, digitized it, etc. I'm all for people helping out the rotary community.

...don't forget to remove them valve core from the compressionn tester hose...

...he forgot to say..."ya'll come back now...hear"
