Interest in bolt in fuel system upgrade for FD?

Hi guys,

My engine builder has just asked me to see what interest there is for a bolt in fuel system upgrade for FDs. The system consists of:

2 x 1000cc primary injectors
2 x 1400cc secondary injectors
1 x 5 litre/min fuel pump

These are bolt in replacements.

Cost is in Australian dollars.

Injectors are $800 for the 4 of them trade in! So you get 4 new injectors and send in your old ones.

Fuel pump is also $800.

If bought together, the system can be bought for $1500.

This system will support around 500rwhp+. I have smaller injectors than this sytem and I am making 500rwhp on pump fuel.

If this is a rip off, tell me and I will pass that info on. If it sounds good, tell me as well! Feedback is appreciated.

First, those primaries are WAY too big. The secondaries are ok. As for the prices.... you can get a 255 lph pump for $100. Can't say I can see spending another $300 for a whole 45 lph you may never need. And the injectors seem a little pricey too. You can get some Bosch 1600's for about $85 a piece. Just my opinion.

Thats AUSTRAILIAN dollars he is quoting - I don't know the exchange rate but will guess in the neighborhood of 1.75:1 Aus/US

don't know the exchange rates for australian dollars but:

1) Lost Time is right, stick with 550 cc primaries.

2) Even if you get the Bosch or SR pump, it's only $300-500 US. The Nippon Denso is available for $225 US.

3) You can get your secondaries bored out for $350/pair or less.

So, even getting the ultra expensive SR pump at $500, your total would be $850 US.

DOH! You're right. Current exchange rate AUS/US is 1.88:1 So the $400 pump is $212 and the $800 injectors are $425. Sorry for the mixup.

The other thing to keep in mind is that there is going to be more shipping time and cost going back and forth between continents. I have no idea what it would be exactly but whatever it is is going to be worse than getting the stuff from vendors in the states.

Just checked the price on the current exchange rate, your looking at a tad under $800USD
