Intercoolers...
Could somebody post me a link to a thread about which intercoolers are the best? I've searched (nothing good), and looked at a couple links from the FAQ, but I'm not having any luck finding a good debate.
Basically I have to replace or repair my FD's IC, and want to go with the best ... reliability/performance wise. I don't think repairing it would be the best route as I plan on racing this car and doubt the stock one is as good as some aftermarket ones. But I'm no expert on this & that's why I'm here trying to absorb all the info I can. Sorry for being such a D/A, and thanks for any links provided. - JyRO |
Before you get flammed to hell you should search for FMIC vs SMIC and for vmounts..... Typically a vmount is regaurded as the "best" all around, well at least IMO. www.rotaryextreme.com has the cheapest vmount option, and is just as good as any other, if not better.

Just a few from searching using "fmic smic":

vmount is gonna be your all around best setup. A big stock mount is great if you're just gonna be using this as a street or track car, although you will have some heatsoak. FMIC is beneficial for drag use since there's no heatsoak, but you're gonna hinder your cooling system by doing so.

Search using the terms "FMIC", "SMIC", "VMIC", "v-mount", "vmount".
Thread closed, we have enough debates already. :) EDIT: Ok, I'll leave the thread open if you have any specific questions from your searches, but if another "debate" starts, it will be closed. |

Another vote for the V-mount here. But K. Wynum makes the best SMIC in the business for the FD and his products are top quality. I would say that you can't go wrong either way!!

I have a Large SMIC. But if I had to do it all over again, I'd go with a Rotary Extreme Vmount set up.
