Intercooler removal question

Trying to replace radiator. Everythign was going great, but in trying to remove the intercooler and the intake shroud connected to it, I can seem to get it out. And that round cannister on the drivers side (ac condensor I think) how do you get it out of the shroud?

You need to loosen up some of the mounting brackets for the A/C lines down below, and unfortunately use a little elbow grease to pull the A/C "receiver/dryer" unit (the cylinder you speak of) up out of its receptacle in the stock IC duct. Be careful how you pull it up, as you're going to be bending the A/C lines a bit; if you kink the lines, your A/C will not function/not function as well.

you really dont need to be replacing the radiator on a low mileage car like yours

the cracking of the end tanks happens but not very often and it is on very high mileage cars that havent been maintained. A radiator is a waste of money until you need one as the stock one cools just great even with a FMIC blocking it! Getting an aftermarket water temperature gauge is all you need so you can tell if something has failed. But everyone has their own ideas.....

download these instructions and just use the first part, good tips:

Ok, got it out, go new Koyo radiator in. Had to flip the brackets.ike most otehrs did. However, now the intercooler/intake air duct won't go all the way back in. And that same ac canister thing, can't be bolted back to the fram. It won't reach as a result of the duct not going all the way back in.

Heh, welcome to the world of Koyo fitment issues. :D You will probably have to do some clearancing with either the IC duct and/or a small part of the rad fan framework to get everything to slide in nicely. Although that's just a guess; perhaps someone with a Koyo will chime in and correct me. But I had to do some clearancing to get my PWR to fit properly, and that's a slightly thinner radiator.

Anyone with a Koyo, help!!! I trimmed the duct and the fan shroud, but it still doesn't fit correct, and when you mount the intercooler up to the duct, it won't reach teh bar in the back to bolt the intercooler down.

You need to cut this part of the inner bumper shroud to drop the front of the Koyo down about an inch. Use a dremel or a knife, will take about 10 minutes:

I guess that's why the Fluidyne is worth $40 more....:)

You should also be VERY careful to make sure the IC duct is not smashing the wires running to the fan motors. This is very easy to do, so look out for it.

Clayne, I am not hitting that wiht the radiator. It is actually hitting the frame. I see no way to make it go farther.
