Intercooler question
In the spring time im going to be converting my stock twins to the non-sequential setup. I am pondering on which intercooler setup i want to do and i have no idea which one is better for the twin setup. I was wondering if anyone had a greddy 2 row FMIC for their car or if anyone has any experiance. I am curious about turbo lag and other problems that might occur. I know that a FMIC blocks air flow threw the radiator but lowers intake temps. Im just confused. With the FMIC is there bad turbo lag running like 12psi becasue thats what im shooting for.
Thanks Chuck |
The GReddy 2 row will work. A bigger SMIC might be better though. It kind of depends on what you want to do with the car.

Yup, the Greddy 2 row will do just fine. I've been running one for 2 years now.
The FMIC will allow decreased air flow through the radiator, causing water temps to go up a few degrees. An upgarded aluminum radiator will bring the temps back down. Lag with the stock twins in non-sequential form is minimal and quite simply can be eliminated by adjusting the gear your in to the rpm point you want. |
Get the ASP medium intercooler if you plan on staying twins/low boost, or the large if you plan on going single/high boost.
I believe there is one of each available in the FS section right now. -Ben |
