intercooler question ??
what happen if i use Greddy 3-Row FMIC for stock twin turbo ?? i know it is for 15psi or over.... how about i use boost controller to boost up to 15psi .....
|
Better get an upgraded ECU, and 100 Oct. Gas...
12-13 Psi is the limit on the stock ecu. And from what I've heard more than 14 psi on pump gas is playing with fire... dunno if 1 psi is going to make or break it, but I'd get a knock sensor while you're at it :D Think $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ If you upgrade 1 thing a lot of others have to follow suit.. -DC |
it's ideal for 15psi due to the pressure drop and size.
Don't make the stock turbos do 15psi. |
What is the pressure drop on those things? It can't be as high as the stock IC.

yeah, i am considering the 3row greddy for my car.... but how does the pressure drop compare to other IC's the same size?
|
I m going to buy a single later but just don't want to waste a money on intercooler.
|
The stockers can do 15 all day and night long. That's what I was running. They held up pretty well. After I pull them out, I'll see how much damage, if any there was. And 93 is fine, though you are in cali, so yeah, get some 100 in there. If you're tuned well, you'll be ok. Ran fine throughout the summer. I don't know what the issue is with everyone saying not to run 15. I'd day that's the max I'd go, but you'll be fine. Axe that ECU. I've got a non cali modded stocker for sale if you're interested.

That's not pressure drop, that's lag. Pressure drop is if the IC is restrictive enough that is won't allow the amount of boost through...in a nut shell.

anyone know what the most efficiant IC is???? some are quite more than others, but if theyre all about the same why spend more
|
i run the two row with no probs
|
You clearly need an ASP intercooler if you want to run 10's or make 500hp later on. :D The good news is they work well below 500hp as well and even for cars slower than 10's.
Kevin T. Wyum I sometimes enjoy a good plug. : ) |
but 2 row is for 15 psi or below , right.... what about i want to run around 17 - 21 psi ??
|
Get a 3 row
|
so if i plan on using 18 psi in the future... an asp large would be a better choice than 3 row?
would 98 octane be sufficient for 18psi? |
Of course it would be the better choice. : ).
