Intercooler options (high hp)

What's my best option for a highly modified Fd. I need something that is going to to be able to support 700whp+

I don't like the ETS unit because it requires too much cutting. My car is way to clean to hack her up.

The Apexi Front mount looks pretty stout, but I'm not sure if it's enough. Vmounts look great but most of them are kinda small. So please it's open discussion what would you guys recommend. :)

The HKS V-mount setup is massive

most of the really big HP cars you see have front mounts :)

Hks is on top of the list for v-mounts, the only thing I don't like is the availability for these they seem very hard to source. It doesn't specify what kind of power level it supports.

Sammy - I've had good luck ordering some JDM goodies from places like RHDJapan.com. Last I looked, they are able to get the HKS Vmount.

Interesting looks pretty legit what's the turnaround from your experience. How long did it take to get your parts roughly?

The Apexi GT FMIC is huge. I think its like 5" thick or something along those lines. I helped a buddy install a used one on his FD and it was kind of a pain in the ass. It sits inside of the engine bay and fitting his Koyo radiator with the stock fans was one of the hard parts. Anyways, if you can find that kit used (since its discontinued) Im positive it will support your HP goals.

Bell Intercoolers - Custom Intercooler and Core Solutions
click on the thickness of the intercoolers and look at sizing to get max air flow of them.

This can get you the size and ballpark of what you need.

Do you know a good fabricator? If you do and want a huge clean V-Mount going custom may be the way to go. I did a custom v-mount with a Garrett GT Ballistic 24x12x4 inch bar n plate core, custom end tanks, 3" piping/modded Greddy elbow, VanJen quick release clamps on all piping and radiator/IC ducting for a few hundred less then the HKS kit. It is an incredibly tight fit and I could never imagine anyone offering a bolt kit of this size that looks as clean. On the dyno air temps never got over 98 degrees at 32 psi and 666WHP/543WTQ. Ambient temps were 75 to 80 degrees. Old V-Mount on the exact same set up could not stay under 160 dergees at 26 psi no matter what the ambient temps were.

I am not 100% sure of the core size the HKS uses but for a pre-made v-mout it looks to be by far the biggest.

I attached a pic of my set up and a video I did for my quick release bumper that shows the ducting.

I have the ETS FMIC.

It's a nice kit that fits well, and looks really great.
Performance wise, I haven't measured anything yet. (No real need to.. BPU mods.)

I think this kit with aluminum piping would be better.

I highly recommend the Rotary Extreme custom fabricated Vmount. Ben will customize the setup to your hearts content. You need to have patience though, the customer list is very long and he's hand making and test fitting each kit.
