Intake ???

I currently have the dp,mp,cb combo, and i was wondering if i would be able to throw on filters on the existing airbox pipes. This would enable me to free up some valuable space in the bay, and add a little power. The motor has a ported wastegate and hold 10lbs on cold nights here in FL. The motor is also ported lightly on the stock ecu...no check engine lights, and the port can not even be hear in the exhaust, but you feel it upstairs. Please tell me if this would work, thanks in advance.

(obviously I'm working on the car here, so ignore disconnected items)

You're running those mods on a stock ecu? That's scary..... I think if you put those filters on it will accelerate your car towards dissaster.

Id put a rising rate fuel pressure regulator on there and a bigger pump atleast.. that will help some.. You need to get a pettit unlimited ecu or somthing soon..

Yeah, I'm looking for those filters too. I'd like to know the K&N part numbers for them since Auto Zone or any of those places don't have specs on each part. Without a number, you can't get anything.

I have a pettit racing intake that i will be putting up for sale soon. It has been on my car for about 7 miles.

I bought it used so I am willing to let it go for $200. This comes w/ the headshield, the 3 filters, the mounting pipes and the silencing hose from the airpump.

Save you all the work!

PM me if you are interested

clayne, whats that device thats on top of the towel? Sorry for the question, just kinda curious...

Toadman 02-16-04 05:39 PM

Apexi PFC remote commander on the towel. :)
You can run the Apexi Power Intakes using the stock accordion tubing if you want. I ordered it and the RX7-store polished tubing today(The lower Bomez pipe on Ebay(($45/set))doesn't fit for crap even stretching the coupler).

Nice setup, Clayne. :D

ummmm..... K&N part numbers for the filters anybody???....

iceman4357 02-17-04 08:27 PM

man, you got all those mods and no ECU?!? i would greatly urge you to get a tuned ECU to avoid pushing too much boost and blowing your seals.

BoostCrzy 02-17-04 09:08 PM

he has a ported wastegate....therefore..im gonna say putting filters on with the full exhaust is safe....just be sure the boost does stay below 10psi......just in case...

180sx-x 02-17-04 09:22 PM

get a Geddy profec B boost controller and setit to 10pis(with a boost gauge.)
