Insurance Companies??
I currently pay $350 a month for full coverage on my FD, I realise that even that isnt a huge amount but for a car that is only driven at the track roughly 4-5 days out of a month it seems like a little much...
anyone know of any companies that run a little cheaper or with special benefits for people in my position with a heavily modified car preferably based in MN or with coverage here?? any input would help.... Thanks all ;-) |
ouch
man that hurts..........350 a month is a hella lot. I am currently paying $110 a month full coverage and every option on coverage. And i don't have the best record or insurance status. So i would definitely be changing insurance companies.

Mines all stock btw, but i do know a few people with heavy mods done and still don't pay that much. I have insurance through a smaller company located in SE ohio so if you are near there i can hook you up :)

Thats how fealt when I heard how much it was, I also have the deduction for multiple cars, on my FC i was paying $160 for liability!! any names of companies that might be able to help me? Thanks
|
i would check and see if a grange is listed near you or a motors mutual. I believe those are the exact names of two other companies i checked when i first bought my rx-7 and were a little higher than i have now. I am through Brogan Warner insurance and doubt they have that by you though.

As for the liability they are really screwing you on. Liability is insurance for if you hit someone else. Every liability estimate was a steady amount no matter what kind of car you owned unless you put comprehensive extra.

Thanks bro...much help, i just hate insurance co's as it is much like everyone i bet...so i didnt really wanna start diggin around just yet until i got a few ideas from you guys...

No problem and very understandable. I wish i was a little more of a help but im located out in the country so not many insurance companies out here are massive ones. hehe

If your insurance company is State Farm, then that is your problem.
|
You should be shopping for the "best" insurance company and not the cheapest one. You will get ripped off when you try to do a claim.

guide1 I pay 60.00 a month for full coverage

insurance???

im 16 :( im scared my insurance is gonna be like 800 when i get my car :(

Don't hate insurance. And shop good companies. I've had Country Companies and now State Farm.
Why should we not hate insurance? Have you ever been in an accident? I was in a "no-fault" accident (no tickets issued, each person's insurance covered their own car, 3 of the 4 were totaled, including mine) and State Farm gave me a check within 24 hours, and a rental while I shopped for another car. As well, State Farm covered 3 car break in's where my stereo equipment was stolen, no questions asked (I have a garage now, thank goodness). I don't pay much, but I'm a 28 year old married homeowner (although the only other car we have is a 2002 Mitsu Eclipse Convertible...). Again, insurance is not bad. Unless you are 16... I remember those days, and they did suck. |

Originally posted by Rated R1 If your insurance company is State Farm, then that is your problem. I disagree, i had statefarm and payed no where near that for my FD.. You are getting screwed, probably by your agent! -Zach |
twintriangles how old are you? if you are under 25, there is your problem. I'm 21 and have the insurance of the RX7 under my dads name. And mine is under another car. Keep the RX7 a "weekend" car and tell them it's driven only 3000mi/year. 360 a month is totally crazy. it's not a ferrari right. I have AAA in california too. shop around and find a beter plan. It's all about what car is your primary driver, your age, your record.

Nope. i was 22 when i owned my FD.. and like i said pay way under that.
YOUR AGENT IS SCREWING YOU. especially if you are not ever driving the car. you can get special discounts for cars like that. -Zach |
Try Amica $1400 a year for FD and 97 GMC truck.
|
$100 a month, $100 deductible, full coverage, max coverage. I have 4 points. Oh by the way i registered the car under my girlfreinds name, she on the other hand has zero points. Of course she will sign the title when it comes in the mail and i will keep it.

how much do you guys think insurance will be for me?? im 16 now but when i get my FD in october ill be 17 and i havea clear record???

Well, I know they are good to work with where i live.. but the company is only as good as your agent.. before i had allstate and loved them, but when i moved to IL. they totally sucked and where ripping me off big time. so i switched to statefarm, and statefarm, is good here.
Just find a good agent, and you will get good service. -Zach |
sorry you feel that way rated. state farm has been about the best experience with insurances companies i have had.
|
My sister works for state farm and they work good for me and by the way did you know that state farm has one of the cheapest rates for motorcycles. A few of my friens save over 1k by using state farm. I'm not advertising them and i've heard of a few problems with them aslo. And for the guy thats 17, good luck. If you can afford a fd then you will probably be able to afford insurance.
