Installing A PRofec Type-S

Just bought a GReddy PRofec type-s and I'm trying to find a place to mount the unit. Good locations that I already found but are not available are compartment under the radio (Kenwood EQ), small A/C vent under the steering wheel (HKS TT), and on top of the steering column (don't want it to be that visible). Open for suggestions and pics of installs. TIA.

Anyone?

Seems the only place I have available is atop the steering column, unless someone knows of a more creative location... anyone?... post and LMK. Thanks.

What about inside the glovebox? I assume there is either a hole in the firewall on that side or you could make on and you could make a hole in the back of the glovebox. Basically if youre not tuning theres no reason to look at it. I wanted to put mine in there but found the easier location i told you about that youve already found too.

just a thought,
dave

Thanks, I'll look into that. And yes, there is a hole on the passenger side I can feed through.

I would reccomend the glovebox. It would be out of sight but easily reached for adjustment. There are many ways to route the wires to that location, and should not be an issue. Good luck.

Do you have any pics?

Looks good! I'm impressed with your attention to detail, not something see too often!

Thanks. Most of the AL guys who know me personally, would probably just call me anal.

Kaotic Dan Jul 24, 2006 07:27 PM

Bieng anal is the most important thing to having a cleanly modified car. the cleanest cars in my town are all owned by people who are obsessive compulsive! You used to own a PGT didnt ya?

Still own it... 202K and still running strong.

what about the warning lights on the cluster. the openin looks like it could fit a bc.

HDP Jul 24, 2006 10:12 PM

I would like to retain my warning lights. Thanks, but I think the place I found will work well.

have it sit under the glove box so you can access it without opening the glove box!, or right above the steering wheel where the gauges are located!

Not as nice or clean looking as HDP's solution but I've stuck mine underneath the glovebox. I had toyed with the idea of it going inside but I didn't like the kink in the hose that was required. Where it is now is tucked out of the way and if I ever want to change to low or high boost it's not a problem, plus you can always get the steering wheel mounted button that switches over. Here's a pic ... not brilliant sorry.

That looks good, but I would be afraid it would get bumped or hit by the passenger. I've had women riders in the past who would sometimes put their feet up on the dash.

Anybody that puts their feet on my dash gets a slap. ;)

I've had lots of people in the car including the dog sitting in the footwell and I've never had a problem. Having said that I would rather it be more "enclosed", to that end I might make a small enclosure or something that can go around it.
