Installing motor soon, a few specific questions
I am about to install my motor in two weeks. I have a couple general questions.
1. What should I put Lok Tite on. I know about the flywheel bolt and clutch bolts, what else? water pump, t-stat housing, LIM???? 2. What should I put antiseize on? DP, all exhaust manifolds? 3. What shoudl I use silicone sealant on with or without gaskets? Also what kind of silicone, Hondabond for everything that would need it? Thanks |
Oil pan =Hondabond, no gasket with 3 days cure time . Oil pick up tube in the oil pan= lok tite, lock washers . Oil pump bolts = lok tite. Stronger allen head bolts for the lim to block .

Any more tips??

Anti-seize on the long-ass alternator bolt, silicone on the exhaust flanges all the way up to the turbo manifold. It is also a good time to replace the front and rear seals on the transmission;a good time to replace any clutch parts; if you have emptied your AC system of freon, it is a good time to also freshen the seals in the lines; it is a good time to replace the factory radiator; its a good time to replace worn motor mounts. Get new oil-metering lines(do not re-install the old ones). The list could be longer but I hope you have done the other obvious things.
