Installing Brake Master Cylinder

Any advise on installing a new brake master cylinder or any experience doing this job?

I note in the manual, there is a special tool required to adjust the rod in the cylinder and at the servo. Is this really required?

I'm thinking of swapping out a known good master cylinder from another FD, just to see, but not sure if I can just do a straight removal and bolt up without having to adjust anything. Any advise at all would be much appreciated?

Here's my other post regarding the issues I'm having... https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/weird-clutch-engagement-please-advise-641646/

it's an easy job if you're replacing with a stock MC. Just remember to bench bleed the new unit prior to installation, I don't see why you'd have to adjust the rod, but if you do it can be done with a 12mm open end wrench and some pliars.

Nice one. Thanks for the pointers Section8. So I'll just bench bleed with a mityvac should do it I guess.

You can do it by hand. The new MC should come with tubes to direct brake fluid back into the reservoir. Just use your hand to push in the piston to bench bleed it.
