Installed PFS intake and SMIC

After alot of effort and buying extra parts, I finally got my PFS intake and SMIC installed.

Rynberg showed me how to mount the AST, I owe you so much dude!

Got the GReddy elbow from FDNewbie(Ramy), thanks dude! And I got all the PFS stuff from silver93(I still can't believe he sold me the stuff so cheap!) and VaGambler powder coated my IC. I can feel a noticeable difference in how the engine performs. My only complaint is that the PFS intake sits just a little bit too high and so I have to push down my hood a bit to get it to close. I can see the intake box is sitting too high on this corner:

I tried pushing it back a bit, it won't give. Anyway it's working great so far. Just thought I'd share.

Looks good! That silver finish looks way better than my gouged and dinged up red....

Why did you not want to use the AST mounting tab? Also most every PFS intake I ever seen, including one I used to have all liked to rub on that corner so don't feel bad.

Nice clean car btw.

Low key. I love it.

My aftermarket AST didn't fit on the tab on my PFS SMIC, so I just relocated it.

I also had a hell of a time getting the duct to fit right. Reversed the radiator mounts and raplaced the rubber mount bushings with some thinner rubber washers. And I still had to cut up the bottom of the duct to get it to sit right.

Wow, looks great - I don't even recognize it! As for the cold air box sitting so high, I had the same problem. Part of it was the aftermarket radiator hose was preventing the box from being pushed back enough. But, as you can see from the box, that top corner has a wear spot from the hood. I've seen others with the same wear spot. I was actually planning on cutting/shaving that corner and reshape it with some fiberglass. Anyway, looks great - much better than when I had it!

Looks like cross over hose is still there, dropping flow to IC core at wot.

Isolate duct from airbox, and do a poor man's mod for stock lower filter box, and get intake air from beside the rad. a search on filter box mod would help.

Thanks guys!! I'll try to grind down that corner and patch it up.

Really, the flow drops at WOT? I'll look into that mod. Thanks!

You've got to make a small tab out of sheet metal... approx 1 to 1.5" square, drill two holes on one end, then cut the metal halfway through, between the two holes, and bend one end about 30 degrees.

Yup, I'm an idiot. I had the metal piece and I couldn't get it to work quite right.

My intake hits too.
I spent a lot of time trying to adjust the core so that it sets parallel. Did you notice
that the core ends up slightly turned to the left ? Drove me crazy but I don't even
notice it now.

Looks great! Now you guys need one of these battery trays to allow a little room between the IC and the battery while dropping 10-15lbs off the front of the car in the process.

Check it out, I've got just a few left!
