Install Emanage ultimate jdm

I´m gonna install a Emanage Ultimate in my JDM fd. Is the ecu wiring the same as US models? I only got a manual for US spec since I really cant find(or read) the japanese one:/

Thanks!

I would not use the E-manage. The Apexi PFC would be a much better choice.

might be, but I already got the E-manage ultimate so I have to use that one.

sell it and buy the power fc

The E-manage Ultimate is designed for certain vehicle applications only (it is not universal). There is no FD application. Don't know who sold it to you, but it won't work on an FD.

I brought it a ooparts in japan for my rx7 so it should work. Youre telling me that he tricked me?

It's a universal fuel computer, and it works really well on certain cars, but doesn't work well at all on the FD. By the time you bought the E-manage, the software, and enough options to halfway tune an FD, you could have bought a PowerFC for $650-700ish and had a WAY better tuning platform.

The E-manage primarily uses the MAP sensor to add or remove fuel - it adjusts the signal the ECU sees. Well, if you try and richen it up, it increases the MAP signal and the ECU will cut fuel. The stock ECU cuts fuel at like 11-12 PSI, which means you have pretty much no headroom there.

So, you have to clamp the MAP signal to keep the ECU from cutting fuel, then use the optional injector harness to directly add pulsewidth to the injectors, which is VERY difficult to get a good tune with. On top of that, the ECU won't know how much boost you're running and won't set timing appropriately, so you'll need the ignition harness to adjust timing. Problem is the E-manage can only show you how many degrees you've altered the timing, not what the actual timing is, so you're shooting in the dark playing with ignition timing.

Oh, you'll also need the boost sensor, as you'll be clamping the MAP sensor's output so the E-manage can actually know the boost you're running.

So, add it up. http://www.mohdparts.com has the best E-manage prices. $499 for the Ultimate, $90 for the harnesses, $99 for the pressure sensor, $30 for the pressure sensor harness - $718 total.

Or head to http://www.jps-trading.com/Electronic.htm - get a PowerFC with commander brand new for $690 plus $40 in shipping - $730.

I'll tell ya, I really do like the E-manage - I used to run the E-manage Yahoo! Groups forum, I wrote the E-manage FAQ, and I used to have one on my old FC. It just flat doesn't work right on an FD, period.

Thanks DaleClark for your info.
Looks like I´m gonna have to sell it and go for the PFC instead. Crap! hopefully they will take it back where I brought it.
