Injectors, other maintenance items?
In the midst of a hose job on my '93 with 75000 miles on the motor... I replaced the pulsation damper. Should I have the injectors cleaned/checked while I'm in there? That is, if the car was running strong, is it worth the expense? The car is primarily a weekend / track car.
Any other maintenance items before I put it back together? I broke an oil line so they are already on the list, as well as check valves and pcv... solenoids seem to all check out, in that they operate, have the spec'd resistance, and are intact... |

Ok, I'm sending them to RCEng. Do I have any options for changing injector size (having them bored out) if I have a PFS PMC? I do not believe it can compensate for different injector sizes.

you can have RC bore them out to 1200 or 1300cc. i recommend you search on 1300* b4 doing so as some people have experienced injector failure after having them bored out. i had an interesting conversation with the people at marren injector - www.injector.com about boring out injectors and he was nice enough to explain to me how it works and why they won't do it.
definitely worth cleaning them while you are in there though. also check/replace the fuel lines that are under there. if your ECU doesn't have an option to change injector sizes, don't bother. unless you are putting out big HP numbers, you really don't need bigger injectors. there are a couple of threads on when you need bigger injectors. |
Yeah, hopefully having them cleaned will improve flow somewhat. PMC is reporting 85% injector duty at high rpm so I was concerned.

As someone who had an engine fire due to the short rubber hose between the primary and secondary fuel rails failing I highly recommend replacing that as well. It's cheap and easy to replace while in there.
