Injector problem?
 

I just got a motor rebuilt in my 95 FD, its the 13b with a street port... I have a powerFC with a basic map for the street port loaded on it... I installed a cheaper air/fuel ratio gauge and it seems to be running really rich... and dumping a ton of exhaust (black) out the tail pipe... So I'm curious if this is somewhat normal with a new motor or if you think my injectors are bad? I just have stock injectors right now?

Also can you tell me where all the injectors are located... i remember theres like two on the top of the short block and i think one under the intake manifold but I could be wrong... Just tell me know... Thanks Guys!!

All of the injectors are under the intake manifold, right by the ACV. You have to remove parts of the rats nest to get them out.

You didn't have the injectors cleaned when you rebuilt the motor? Naughty, naughty.

I doubt it's the injectors. Where did you get the PFC map from? Have you checked the sensor readings or put the stock ecu back in to check for Codes?

Why is the shop who put the motor in not troubleshooting this????

With that map and your setup you shouldnt be getting a lot of black smoke out the back. How much smoke and when are you getting it? What RPM or idle etc..
Only times we so a lot of smoke is if the map sensor is diconnected. An injector problem would cause the car not to idle or run like crap all the time.

it idles at about 1500 rmps... I had to adjust the idle because it was idling rough... It will just dump black smoke like the entire time the car runs im sure... it dumps a decent amount and is only probably getting like 5-10 miles to the gallon

the map sensor didnt have the vaccuum line hooked up to it... thanks jason... it runs smoother now... just sometimes has problems starting, and when it does it screws with the coolant system... the car can be kept cool if it gradually creeps up to about 100c... but if it climbs to quickly it over heats and i have to cut it off at like 120 c... What is the best way to burp the cooling system?

Your plugs could be fouling due to dumping gas.

Just keep burping the coolant system, it can take some time.

Carefully reach down in front of the belts and give the top radiator hose a squeeze. Pulsing that hose will push up any air nearby in the system. It can take a couple of times of pulsing and running the car to get all the air out.
