injector install question
I removed the stock injectors for service and now it's all clean and ready to go. I already install the injectors back in the fuel rail and was wondering if there is anything i need to do the secure the injectors back on to the engine.
By just tightening the 4 bolts from the fuel rail to the top of the engine, is that enough to secure the injectors? Thanks. |
I would recommend testing for leaks before you bolt them back to the engine/LIM. You can do something like this:

I'm not sure what your confusion is, yes you bolt the fuel rails back to the engine with the original bolts.....2 per rail.
|
I'd highly recommend testing the injectors to make sure they click before putting them back in. Mine were stuck closed, even though I just had them cleaned and flow tested.

crap, another problem!!!
ok, I tested for leaks - thanks Mahjik - and no leaks...HOWEVER, i have another problem...:wallbash:
There are 2 bolts holding the top fuel rail to the engine...it's either I over torqued the bolt or the bolt was too old - I end up snapping one of them! Sooooo...am I going to have any issue in the future? |
So you snapped the bolt in two?
|
I would think you are going to have to Easy-Out that bolt and replace it.....
|
the bolt was tightened and secured...stupid me decide to give it an extra turn on the rachet...and snap! the head of the bolt came off...doh!!
