inexpensive circuit breaker for battery relocation
Anyone see these?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/270811902686...ht_2652wt_1110 Not a bad price and perfect for the main breaker next to your relocated battery. I seem to remember paying about $24 + shipping for the breaker that I have now. |
^ I would much prefer to purchase a quality circuit breaker since its intention is to help protect the electrical system and prevent fire.
But hey, it is only the electrical system, lets just buy the cheapest part we can find:lol: |
I'm currently rewiring/rewrapping the drivetrain's electrical system, and I probably wouldn't want to go back in twice and deal with problems created by cheap parts or less-than-ideal connections.
My batt circuit breaker is like this one: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BSS-CB185-150/. |
If its cheap its cheap for a reason.

Been happy with the Stinger I bought. A bit on the pricey side? Perhaps. I'll take the peace of mind regarding my electrical system as others have pointed out.

You don't have to pay a lot to get good quality circuit breakers.
Waytek Wire has them in the same price range you found on Ebay. They are Bussmann, and are probably the OEM for Stinger. http://www.waytekwire.com/products/1...s/&Type=Hi-Amp BTW, this is a good place to shop for high quality electrical items of all types. |
you can get them at Autozone in their electrical section.

I bought a 150A circuit breaker off ebay for $8 about 4 years ago, still working fine today.
|
^ How do you know it works "fine"?
Do you trip it to see if it functions correctly? My point is; you may not know if it works fine or not unless you really need it, by then it may be to late. |
Ha ... my cheapness may yet be vindicated!
