You should have done a search but since its already here.

It would be a great idea to upgrade your ecu but as long as you dont exceed 10psi, you should be fine. Some will disagree but the general concensus is that if you stay at stock boost levels you can do anything you want to the car and it will remain safe. An ecu upgrade is never a bad idea though. Expecially with how many affordable options are out there now.

to answer you specific question, runing a down pipe is better for the car even on the stock ECU

its the mid pipe that you need the ECU upgrade for

depends on how your boost is. every car is diffrent. what does your boost gauge show? do you have a 10-8-10 pattern? if so, adding a dp should be ok. there is kind of a 3 mod rule, usually with most cars, you have to change the ecu for a 4th mod. just watch your boost when you first get the pipe put on. make sure it doesent spike.

I put on a downpipe and was spiking to 12 psi....chances are with a catback, intake, and dp the motor wouldn't last long. Its a possibility you wouldn't get the boost increase i did make sure to have a boost gauge to check for sure
