i have a series8 which i had from stock...i ran into the same solenoid problems...fixed it and ran into some problems not too long after....but i went single when it started to give problems the third time...probably the best thing did!...

It's been a while, but I want to ask for a general summary of the solenoid box. I am thinking of bringing my car back online, and I wanted some questions answered:

1. Is the computer in the US models enough to drive this thing?
2. What connector (if any,) has to be spliced into the wiring harness to make it work?
3. What is the best choice in check valve replacement?

I move around the country often, and my car is on the street more than on the track, so emissions removal isn't an option for me.

Thanks!

Now I did a search and found this . maybe someone can explain to me if i'm screwed or not .

I have a series 7 engine with the upgraded rats nest already .. if my current nest is in working worder , could I use it as is . if I change the plug on the harness to the plug from a series 6 ? to put into my USDM car?

shameless bump , to see if anyone finally went through with it and managed to get this working ??

With all the wrongsidedness of the LH cars, I'd just pop your old harness/rats nest on the new engine, as you've been advised previously.

Plastic box version causes just as much heartache as the old stuff. If you want to persist and avoid wholesale cuts and splices....http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/148678730

...might go someway to saving some of the drama.

I have one of those with a broken nipple I am about to throw away.
