I'm Filthy RICH

Can you guys give me some trouble shooting advice.
I purchased a redom ECU ( re amemiya) to work on my 93r1..( street ported, intakes , down pipe, FPR)
My mechanic hooks up the wide band and he's reading 10:1 even at WOT (10psi)
The car even burn a little black at idle...
I doubt that the ECU has been remaped and enrichened so much that i'd be reading that ratio even at high boost? Any ideas or suggestions? :wallbash:

Have you done anything that would increase the fuel pressure above normal? Is that an adjustable FPR?

If that's all good, I would consider an injector dumping fuel. I'd pull them, replace the o-rings, and get them ultrasonically cleaned. Or replace them if they're really old.

If you bought the ECU used, there's no telling what setup it was done for. RE Amemiya will chip ECU's for customer's cars, so you may have one for some wild setup that doesn't match yours.

But, finding out what fuel pressure you're running and making sure you're running a 1:1 rising rate on the FPR is a good start. Not to mention the obvious - good plugs and wires, etc.

hahahaha, you are paying the wrong mechanic.

DAVE...37psi at idle for fuel pressure..and he says it is a 1:1.
All plugs and wires changed before the ECU installation.

Was the 'only' changed the ECU or did you change a few other things at the same time?

DP installed, then ECU swap.

Put the stock ECU back in. If you don't have the same symtoms, then the RE ECU it tune for a setup that you don't have...

figured as much. I was just wondering if a faulty Air flow sensor could lead to such conditions....just a thought?

1. Our cars use a MAP sensor, not an AFM.

2. The car runs 10:1 AFRs with the STOCK ecu. Putting a "modified" ecu in the car that has enriched fuel maps will run richer than that.
