ignition problem??
Ok, new problem now. I was driving with a friend to get some lunch about a week ago, and when i got back in the car to get on the interstate, it didnt want to rev above about 2000-2500 rpms (AT by the way). Also, if I tried to accelerate anything more than a feather touch on the gas, it would do nothing at all. I could I actually made it up to about 60 miles an hour, but it took me about two minutes to get there. However when I hit an uphill, it would only want to go about 30-45mph. So basically.....only very slight acceleration, and wont go above 2500 rpms.
I took the car into the mazda dealer in rock hill, sc. They had the car for a week, replaced the spark plugs and fuel filter. After that, the car ran like it was supposed to, that was on friday. Saturday morning I drove the car columbia, and then to kershaw to a classic car/corvette car show. I got back in the car after the car show, and wham, same problem again. I limped the car down the country roads back to columbia only being able to go about 45-50. Other notes: Chassis - 103,000 , Engine - 25,000 (compression was standard) , tranny - 10,000. |
any comments?? I thought at first it might have been a clogged cat, and the dealer checked to see if it was. He told me that everything seemed fine with the exhaust though. However, it seems odd that with 103,000 miles on a stock exhaust everything probably isnt just peachy with it.
I left it sitting at a friends house all of last night, and I just went out and started it about 15 minutes ago. It did the 3,000rpm warm up just fine. It revs in park and neutral without issues. It's just that when I put it in drive and actually try and move that car that it has this severe acceleration problem. |
Maybe you have trash in the tank. And it took this long to again clogg up the filter. Check this out.
Or maybe your pump is going dead. Run the fuel pressure test as per the manual. |
Check MAP sensor :p:
