If getting a FD....

I find that there's a 93 FD with 90000km on it~~
Some mechanic told me not to touch the rotatries, becaz it take a hella of time and money to rebuilt the engine, turbo, and the hoses. So it that true??

try using the search button at the top right of the screen. Rotaries are unique and need to be treated with extra care. An FD can be a great car with the right precautions and correct maintenance.

Who's this mechanic?? When you buy the car have a compression check done and a rotary specialty mechanic if possible look over the car for anything that may be wrong. It does cost alot of money to rebuild the motor and turbos, but as long as you get a mechanic to check it out, you can hopefully keep it from needing that stuff anytime soon. Also look into aftermarket warrantys, make sure they cover the seals. Coolant and Apex esp.

Also a FD does require alot of maintance which means $$ and alot of stuff can go break when you don't expect it which means more $$. Don't buy this car if you think it will be cheap, because I promise you it won't be. If you make it a year without any major problems then you'll use most of your money being addicted to buying performance stuff for it. Oh and see the "newbie" link at the top of the 3rd gen section. Def. do alot of research on the car before you buy one.

hey,
thx a lot.

its not that expensive or hard to work on, just have enuf money for a rebuild and you'll be fine :)

It will still be cheaper then a new civic, at least it should be.

Thx guys~~

As I am a newbie to rotary, what topic I have to serach to make me understand more about the functions, characteristics, and the maintainance to the FD/rotary???

this one is posted at the top of the 3d gen section for new people to see

read, absorb, understand and then ask some intelligent questions that are unique to your situation and have not been answered a million times on the forum.

was that too harsh?:D
