idle speed, smoke?
I just bought my 7 not long ago and I have been trying to install a heater core. Today I cranked the car for the 4th time, and I noticed the rpm's were really high I thought. So I got on the forum and searched for idle speeds, 750 right? Well I went back outside to make sure I wasn't dreamin and I wasn't! 2000 to 2200 RPM's? What the hell? And I also noticed when I turned it on a lot of white *** smoke was pouring out of the back? What is the prob?

well, i dunno if ur idle drops to more acceptable speeds later on, if it does thats just the accelrated warmup, if not it could be a number of things, just search idle, or look through the important posts section. as for the smoke, im not sure what you consider alot, but most if not all fds puff a bit or smoke on startup, thats ok unless it doesnt stop after an extended period, once again, use the search or look through important posts.
