Idle Question

I have a buddy who is looking at an FD. Anyways, he went to look at one in particluar. Upon starting this car I noticed that the Idle is jumping and wont settle. It went from between 800 to 1400RPM, and just "bounced" back and forth. There was no issue getting it to start, and I turned it off while semi hot, and restarted no problem.

Anybody got ideas on what could cause a problem like this?

Also the guy called my friend the next day, and told him that when he went to move the car for street cleaning it felt as if it had lost all of its "gusto"

Help please.

I don't think this is gonna help much...but ever since I installed the Power FC in my FD, half the time my idle is just like you described...going back and forth...like it's searching or something. I'm freakin terrified imma get pulled over one time for "instigating racing" lol.

The other half of the time she's just fine...and I could swear the idle drops back down to normal and stays there if I hold the brake down...

This car was not running a power FC, it was actually a piggy back unit.

Like i said...I don't think this is gonna help much...:( Sorry

EDIT: Oh I didn't mean to imply that my erratic idle was normal with a PFC...cuz I don't think it is.
