Idle Problem - Please Help
I have tried searching but have found nothing really helpful. I have a 93 FD and do not drive it much. It has been roughly a month since I drove it and when I started it today, it did not want to run correctly. But after it warmed up, it was fine. I then removed the a/c today and do not have a belt for the p/s yet. But now when I start the car it idles at 2k, then will jut down to about 1,700 every couple seconds. My a/f gauge reads lean at 2k and rich at 1,700. Has anyone experienced this. Do I have to readjust the idle screw to compensate for less drag on the motor?????? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I doubt that the removal of a/c wil cause the idle to stay that high, check the trottle cable and other stuff in that neighborhood to see if anything could have been tangled and keeps the trottle partialy open.
Also makes sure the a/c button is in off position, even though you have all a/c componects removed, the ecu will think you are still running it and rise the idle same as before or even higher because there's no tension on the motor now, and hunt the idle once in a while. Another possibilitie is that since there's no p/s belt on, the sensor (can't remember the correct name) might be engaged getting the ecu to think that p/s is also in use and rise the idle there to. |
